When Thomas Pounall opened his tinsmith shop on Covington's Main Street in 1866, he couldn't have imagined that nearly a century-and-a-half later the place where he shaped kitchenware would be the destination for beer mavens throughout the Tri-State. And he certainly never suspected that a liquor called Jagermeister, served to warm up deer hunters in his native Germany, would be poured every day where his front counter once stood.
